Mr. Daniel Fahene Acquaye

CEO - Agri-Impact Limited

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the eHAPPY

Newsletter! Agriculture has long been the backbone of Ghana’s economy, but for far too long, young people have faced challenges in accessing the right opportunities to transform it into a profitable and sustainable career.

eHAPPY was designed to bridge this gap by integrating digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven agricultural
solutions to create sustainable livelihoods for youth. As a subsidiary of the HAPPY Program, eHAPPY is at the forefront of a youth-led agribusiness revolution, equipping young people with cutting-edge digital skills and market-driven solutions to scale their agribusiness ventures. Through strategic partnerships, advanced training programs, and a commitment to innovation, we are not only reshaping Ghana’s agribusiness sector but also creating dignified and fulfilling employment for thousands of youth.

This newsletter provides a glimpse into our journey, our impact, and the exciting opportunities ahead. Whether you are a young entrepreneur, an investor, a policymaker, or a development partner, we invite you to join us in building a tech-driven future for agribusiness in Ghana.

Together, let’s revolutionize agriculture through technology!

Prof. Nana Ewusi Mensah

Project Lead

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the inaugural edition of this eHAPPY Newsletter which serves as a testament to the dedication, resilience, and innovation of the young people (15 – 35 years) we are empowering through the program—an initiative of the MasterCard Foundation in partnership with Agri-Impact Limited – to bridge the gap between agriculture and the digital technology space.
Ghana’s agriculture in the era of a new norm must be made ‘’sexy’’; it is no longer about traditional farming; it is about harnessing the power of digital solutions to bring a new dynamism and perspective to transform the sector. Through the eHAPPY initiative, we continue to equip young people to have dignified and fulfilling jobs as digital consultants,

Agri-Tech entrepreneurs, and Agri-value chain innovators. Within one year of the project inception, over 300 young people have been trained across the project’s three major pillars; e-Agri-prenuers, HAPPYtech Ambassadors, and Coding and Front-End Developers (CoFED) who are now better positioned to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s digital economy, create sustainable businesses, and improve agricultural productivity. In total, over 420 jobs have been created since the project’s inception in 2024.

As we celebrate our first- year achievements, we also look ahead to greater opportunities. The future of Ghana’s agriculture lies in technology-driven solutions, and it is the project’s mission to ensure that young people are at the forefront of this transformation. The future of the project hinges on the development of a national model for digital agricultural youth empowerment and the creation of eHAPPY agribusiness accelerators. In the coming years, we will strive to use this channel to share our success stories, connect our trainees to potential investors, collaborators, and highlight innovative projects.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our partners especially the Mastercard Foundation, Agri-Impact Limited, KNUST E-Learning Centre, and eHAPPY management team who have made this journey possible. Your support and commitment continue to inspire me. Together, we are not just shaping the future; we are building a thriving digital agricultural ecosystem for generations to come.

Enjoy the read!
